Many companies and employers use social
security numbers to track individuals. The Social Security Validation
program helps identify incorrect or fraudulent numbers instantly.
Transposed digits or "borrowed" numbers can bring a
background check to a halt, wasting both time and money.
Simply enter the number and press the validate button. The program
will validate any social security number, and will provide state
and year of issue for valid social security numbers. Not all
numbers will be valid. The message box will provide information
as to why an invalid social security number is not valid. For
example, the number "123-45-6789" is not a valid number.
The programs response to this number would be: "SSN
is Not Valid. Odd Group Greater Than 10 Has Not Been Assigned.
The Last Assigned was None." The middle, or group number,
of this social security number has not yet been issued.
The SSN Introduction in the programs
help file contains detailed information about how numbers are
assigned and answers many questions regarding social security
numbers and the validation process.
